Contact Lens (Day Time / Night Time)

MiSight (Day Time)
MiSight is a type of daily disposable soft contact lens. By using a concentric ring design, peripheral defocusing zones are incorporated on to the lens which creates myopia control effect. It is suitable for children with a very active life-style who wishes to be spectacle-free during day time.
Orthokeratology - OK lens (Night Time)
Orthokeratology (OK lens) is a kind of rigid gas-permeable contact lens that is worn during night time. By wearing it during sleeping, the contact lens alternates the shape of the cornea. This alternation results in temporary reduction of myopia and creates peripheral defocusing effects. The child can also be spared from wearing spectacles during daytime. However, if the child stops wearing the lens, the original myopia will re-appear. It is suitable for those who wishes to be spectacle-free during daytime. This option of treatment is more suitable for children with myopia less than -6 diopters. Orthokeratology can also slow down myopia progression / eyeball elongation by inducing a peripheral defocusing effect. However, because long-term wear is required, there is a risk of infection, and thus both parents and the child must be very compliant with the lens care procedures involved.
